okay I'm ten too and have been on a air plane a lot the best thing to do is sleep play on your computer or whatever you do on there and read and pack a bag of stuff you want under the seat and pack gum. Also pack a small video game thing if you have one

http://www.firstworldclasstravel.com I use it because the prices are all front loaded (no surprises with tax and fees before purchase) It's competitive. It has more to offer than any other site I've been to

Is 116.76 For USA To Italy Shipping Acceptable
Is 116.76 For USA To Italy Shipping Acceptable?
I listed a 7lb laptop on eBay worth about $700 and a bidder interested in buying it asked me for a shipping quote to Italy. He gave me in info and UPS & Fedex are quoting me ridiculous prices (FEDEX $116.76, UPS even went as far as $200!) this can't be right? Maybe i should just call directly for a quote.

i dont think it is

It's high, but not terribly surprising. I wouldn't pay that much for shipping a laptop because it would offset the difference between the price here in Italy and there. Generally, I just wait until I fly into the US on a trip and bring things back with me because it's both cheaper and faster.

Fedex and UPS are overnight couriers. And a flat envelope weighing less than 8 oz usually costs about $50. So for a 7 lb laptop the freight sounds about right. To get the shipping cost down you need to check with the US post office, and ask about the options not only for express freight but also for slower (and therefore cheaper) freight. I should also point out that there are sometimes restrictions on exporting electronics from the US - please be very careful and know the rules before you ship that laptop overseas
