Question about registering items at customs?
I am studying in Italy and I brought my laptop and two digital cameras, do i need to check those items into customs or is it just an option? At the airport we asked if we had to and the people who worked there said it was not necessary, but what do you think?

Play it safe. Its best that they know what you have so that when you go back through customs you can say it was checked in customs when I went through to the country and they won't think you are taking it back without paying for it. Always be MORE cautious and upfront then less cautious and secretive
