Dell laptop computer problem?
I have a 2007 dell laptop computer. I am currently in Italy using a simple adapter to plug it into the wall but no converter. I've been here for a month and have had no problems until now. First, whenever my power cord was plugged in, after a few seconds my screen would go really dark. Now, even when I boot it up sans power cord, it still goes dark after it starts up. You can still see everything on the screen, but just barely. I can only see enough to power it down. Does anyone know what may be causing this/how I can fix it?

Hi there, Have you tried booting it into safe mode? Try that, If you still can't see the screen and your Dell doesn't respond to fn + screen brighter key (above the number keys) then maybe the screen backlight has blown. Try with another computer to go to Dell's user forum to see if you can find anyone else having this problem. Hope it's not the backlight.

the adapter might be slowing power, check the voltage/amps on the adapter and make sure its not too low Or keep your kids away from the brightness settings... lol
