What should I pack in my Carry on for flight to Italy

What should I pack in my Carry on for flight to Italy?
In May I am flying to Rome to board a cruise (which I'll be working on for 4 months) and I'm putting a packing list together for my carry-on. I already have what I am packing in my checked suitcases, but I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas for my carry-ons? I'm not quite sure how long of a flight it is (LAX to Rome) but it's in the 10-14 hour flight. I am planning on bringing a small rollling suitcase (for the over head compartment) and a backpack aka "purse" to put under my seat. Here's what I have so far: - Change of Clothes - Medications - Reading Material (2 books were recommended) - Toothbrush and Toothpaste - Deoderant - Lip Balm - pencils and paper - Laptop (is this permitted?) - Camera - Sleepmask - Jewelry - Lotion What do you think?

I think I would not take anything other than medication and NEEDED items YOU can purchase wht you need over there, i think it would b great to purchase the clothes 2 Italy over there. all I think i would onclude in my idenification. If I got the chance 2 go to Italy...I would enjoy the moment i would not be cncerned about anything~~~~

You should check with your airline on exactly what you are allowed to carry on. Some will not allow a backpack as a "purse" or both a purse and a laptop. Also be sure to check the TSA website to be sure that your toothpaste, lotion etc is in the proper containers.

Its an international flight, so you should be ok to bring a small roll along suit case and a backpack. If you are taking your laptop make sure you organize your back pack so it is easy to get in and out for the security checks and for use on the airplane. Also make sure all your tolietries that you are bringing on board are in 3 oz of smaller containers! I would reccomend grouping lose items that you will want in ziplock bags to make it easier to get to and keep organized, but thats just me. I would reccomend a notebook rather than lose paper as it is smaller and less messy. Any other valuables that you are taking with you (including jewelry, credit cards etc) should be packed in your carry on baggage. Most airlines do not refund you the cost of these items if they lose your luggage. Also if you have receipts for stuff you buy while over there make sure you keep those in your carryon as proof of ownership if you lose your bag. Bring a sweater. Those long international flights tend to get cold in the middle and the thin blankets they give don't always help! Have fun
