Internet in Italy: best option for a few months in Urbino

Internet in Italy: best option for a few months in Urbino?
I'm going to be spending the better part of the summer in Urbino, Italy, and I need daily access to the internet-- I'd prefer not to have to pay at the cafe everyday, and I won't be able to use dial-up or ethernet or anything like that. I'm looking for something like sprint's mobile broadband cards that you can just pop in your laptop. Does Italy have anything like this that would work in Urbino?? Probably going to go with a prepaid option with TIM... does this require any subscription? Would the best option to be to wait until I get to Urbino to buy the prepaid card/pc card at a TIM store or would it be better to shop online? Is it likely that someone at the store will be able to explain it to me in english? i know the language, but not well enough to discuss technical mumbo-jumbo...

You mean 120 Volts, and you should be able to find them at ANY electronics retailer.
2 :
Your best bet is looking it up on ebay and purchasing it on there it is cheaper and will work as good as any you could find in a store. But if you are not an online advocate than your BestBuy is what you are probably going to want to check out. They have representatives that can take care of all the details for you also if you have more questions

Hello I'm going to Italy to study next semester and need some sort of converter for my laptop and camera

Hello I'm going to Italy to study next semester and need some sort of converter for my laptop and camera.?
I have a MAC and I am not sure if I need a special adapter since I've been told that in Italy the apt.'s are old and frequently american electronics cause shorts in the apt.'s and you can't use more than one item in each room. Do I just need a simple adapter, or do I need a voltage converter? Thanks.

You need an adapter available at http://radioshack.com
2 :
You just need a "normal" adapter for Italian plugs; Italy is one of the most modern and industrialized Country in the world, the kind of old electrical that may cause problem like the one you mention are even illegal... As for voltage converter, generally are not needed: transformers generally works from 110 to 240 V; look straight on your notebook, it must be written on the label on the transformer itself

My sister is moving to Florence, Italy right before Christmas. What gift should I give her for the holidays

My sister is moving to Florence, Italy right before Christmas. What gift should I give her for the holidays?
She's already got a laptop, a camera, a journal, and etc. I need something creative. Something she may not have thought of. Something I'm not thinking of. All suggestions welcome. (And whatever it is, it has to be able to be cleared through airport security.) :)

$omething very $pecial to a$$i$t with her move, $eriou$ly

There's a really cool place where you can get some very interesting jewelry. www.alexandchloe.com I'd suggest something along those lines, if that's her personality. Also, try to figure out what kind of music she's interested in. I know I always love to get CDs.

wow, getting to move to Italy would be a good enough Christmas present for me!! Hmm, how about some prepaid long distance phone cards? Or a personalized photo album for her to start keeping her memories of Italy in?
5 :
Power converter plugs for her electronics so they will work on the different current used in Europe.
6 :
Have you seen the picture frames that you can record your voice on? Maybe a pic of you and her with a special message from you that she can listen too whenever she needs to. Believe me, she will need to hear the sound of your voice. I think Hallmark has them.

This is a fun question to answer. It's also a tough one. Relax about it. Remember she is going to another country. When she is over there, she will like remembering you by something that is you, and that is American. Maybe ask yourself what you would like to have. What gift is an expression of you. Something that expresses your interest and hobbies. Something that is you and where you are from. Do you have pictures of the two of you doing something really great? Perhaps get her something nice that can have that picture included in it. A great scrap book is also another idea. Just make it personal. Something that holds a memory the two of you love to keep.
8 :
family portraits, photos of the home, stationary a Visa or Master Card gift card because they can be used on the Internet like a credit card, travelers checks,

I thought of a compass to find her way home, but I guess you'd convert that to 2006 it'd be a GPS device. An atlas, or pictures of America or your state. Many of the items have been suggested. I'd second the phone card idea, as I have been overseas and calls home are $$$$. Merry Christmas to you both
