I need to configure a laptop to be able to connect to the internet using my mobile phone as a modem.?
Is there anyone from italy or someone who knows how to who can help me? Or any website...

First, make sure you have installed the necessary drivers for your mobile phone. The CD installer usually comes with a software for maximizing your mobilephone-laptop connection.

I use Verizon. They have a software disk and cable you can buy for $40 and use the slower Quick Connect connection for free as the National Access costs around $80 per month. Verizon is the best company and maybe the only company who has this feature. Other companies have SIM cards but not as reliable according to my contacts.

I am going to europe this summer..do I need to by a voltage transformer/adapter thing?
I am going to italy france and spain. Do i need to buy one? I plan on taking my laptop and ipod touch charger....so how expensive are they? what are the best ones?

Yeah you need one. You can buy kits at electrical stores (the shack, brook stone). They have adapters for sale at the airports. I'm in China and they sell adapters for less than 1-2 USdollars. Have fun in EUROPE man

Check your laptop lead, in it or as part of the plug there is a little box, and on that box there is a mention of the voltages it can run on. Most laptops can run on 100 to 240 volts, including the USA as well as Europe and most of the rest of the world. If it only has 100 to 120 you will need a converter or a new lead. Your ipod charger also has a mention like that. And it is also likely to be 100 to 240. If they do not, in either case it is likely cheaper to buy a new lead or charger that can handle both 120 and 240 volt, but you can also buy a converter. Those are more expensive and heavy to carry, so most people will want to avoid them. The plug will almost certainly need to be different from home. In Europe there are a few different ones, one for England, and one for most of continental Europe at least. You can buy those cheaply at most of the travel shops and in most electronic shops. There are universal adapters and there are also smaller adapters that are good for one kind of plug only. You do not need an expensive plug adapter, the cheap ones are good enough.

my mic wont work on msn video calls
my mic wont work on msn video calls?
i have a webcam with a mic but the webcam and mic are made with the laptop. It lets me record voice not in msn but on the computer. When i try to send a voice message theres no sound and the mic wont work at all, i adjusted the mic volume its not working.. HELP ?! im trying to talk to my cousins in italy.

Forgot my wep key. what can i do
Forgot my wep key. what can i do?
I went with my laptop to italy and deleted all saved stuff for protection but when i got home i had forgotten my we key! I had made my network hidden. I have a linksys wireless router. The reset buton doesn't work. I pluged it in wired but my computer cant get a wep key. Should i hold a magnet up to it, or what is a wep hey I can use? what should i do? my model is a befw11s4

suggest plugging your laptop in to the router and using a wired connection to get the settings and stuff changed and then resetting up the wireless with a name you remember, rather then use a wep key use a pass key. a word that will make the key for you. so u just remember the password instead

Why do I not belive you? WEP is wireless. Plugging in the wire connects it directly, you dont need a key for that. You hook up the wire, and go to the router's ip address, most likely it will be 192.168.1.1 enter your username and password and change the WEP kep. Reset button does not work. Ethernet cable does not work.. I really dont see that happening. Sorry.

Thats a big NO on the magnet, just to start. If you plug in wired, just log into the router. By default the linksys ip address will be 192.168.1.1 (so http://192.168.1.1 in your browser) and the username and password are both "admin". If you changed it AND your reset button doesn't work, well I suggest a baseball bat and some office space music. If you can get into your router, just go to wireless settings tab and look at your wep key. My suggestion (IF you can get into your router) is use WPA-PSK. Even if your SSID isn't broadcasted, I can usually get a WEP key out of the air in less than 20-30 minutes if you're using your connection. WPA is much more secure. Good luck
