whats the best laptop?
i need a good laptop, im traveling to Italy and i have to get one to talk to my friends and email and stuff. what would be good for a teenager?

That's a very tough question. Different people need different computers. A Mac is your best bet, but you might not want to get something so expensive if you're traveling and could lose it, and you mainly want it for chat and email. To be totally honest, you should get a smartphone like an iPod Touch/iPhone or Blackberry for this. If you really want a laptop, though, I recommend HP and Compaq (owned by HP). They run great in my experience, mine was easy to set up, and it's hard to find something to hate about them. :P (Dell tried to ruin Apple, my Acer died in a few years of a possibly purposeful hardware issue, etc.) Good luck in your search! I recommend talking to a locally owned computer repair shop or another computer expert that doesn't sell computers so that they aren't just telling you things so you'll buy them.

It seems like you are going to be doing some very basic tasks there and for that I recommend a netbook. They are very cheap very portable and can easily handle tasks like email, voip, web chat, etc. You might not like the keyboard though. Take a look at the Asus EEE series and the HP Mini 1000's.

Help with choosing a laptop?
Next year ill be going to Italy for 6 months on a student exchange and i need a laptop to take over. Im looking for a laptop that can do gaming as well as school work and stuff. I've been looking at the dell studio xps16 but its heating problem bothers me. So yea what laptops would u guys recommend?

You must chose the laptop that have powerful graphic engine and high graphic RAM in your laptop. Sony laptops had dveloped graphic system .

I am going on a trip and I have a couple questions about the plane...
I am going on a trip and I have a couple questions about the plane...?
I am going to Italy (8 hour flight) and I am taking the 'Air Transat' plane, and I have a few questions...: 1-Does the plane have tv's on the backs of the seats? 2-Would they allow knitting needles on the plane? Or would that count as a weapon? 3-I am bringing: Laptop, Nintendo DSi, iPod Touch, are there any other ways to pass time on the plane? Thank you for your answers ;)

Daniela - 8 hours to Italy with Air Transat - sounds like from Canada - If you leave from Toronto or Montréal, has to be a night flight - I would recommend to get your meal, a glass of wine then sleep - The morning will be there soon, then landing - If you sleep - the first day in Italy will be ok and be able to stay up until night - If you do not sleep, I guarantee you will go to bed early afternoon in Italy - After takeoff, move your wristwatch 6 hours ahead = that's the time in Italy...

In answer to your questions.... 1. That depends on whether or not the particular plane features TV's on the back of the seats. If it does not, then there will be screens right above you to watch. You will need to pay the flight attendant $5.00 cash to get a set of earphones, so make sure you bring the money. 2. Not sure. Best thing to do is to ask, or to go to the FAA.gov website and find out. 3. Sounds like you got it covered. The rest of the time, just relax, and take a nap if you have to. Enjoy your flight

Does TAP (Air Portugal) have on-board power outlets
Does TAP (Air Portugal) have on-board power outlets?
I'm flying in Spring to Italy via Air Portugal cause it's the cheapest. Do the flights typically have an outlet on the armrests for laptops and such. I'm wondering if I should invest in a plug for my MBP for the trip. Also, when on board, how old do you have to be to order a drink. Just curious.
