Voltage convertor for Italy

Voltage convertor for Italy?
Live in United States, going to Italy. Planning on taking electronics like my laptop, hair blow dryer, hair straightner, etc. I believe I need to take a convertor. Would you clue me in, what is the best thing to take so my things won't die in Italy? LOL

You may/may not need a converter. Do you have a travel store? Take the items that you are wanting to take with you into the store and they will read the code to tell you if you need or converter or can get my with a modified plug. Most of the newer equipment, you can get by with just using a modified plug...easier that way, less heavy and cumbersome. Have a blast in Italy...my favorite place.

Bring your own converters, as many hotels don't have that accessibility. You will need for certain type of electronics, as your laptop

I can't afford a laptop. I just carry extra memory cards. If I did have one I would keep it in the safe in the room or with the concierge.

isnt that the point of a laptop? that you can take it with you? Eat Funyuns.

laptops are small for the convenience of being able to take them with you. its not a problem, so yes. it comes with me

Take my iPad 3G to Italy

Take my iPad 3G to Italy?
I am going to Italy for 3 and a half week in late May, and I REALLY want to take my iPad and keep my laptop at home. However I didn't know if the 3G will work over in Italy? and if so will there be extra charges? How much are the extra charges? Or can I just get a SIM card over there, but will the SIM card work?

The tax would depend on the physical location of the store the laptop is either bought or shipped from, and if shipped, whether your Aunt lives in that state. Shipping cost would depend on where in Italy it is going
