Will I have trouble powering my Laptop in Europe?
I will be going to the UK and Italy this fall. Will a plug converter (does not reduce power voltage) work for my laptop(HP Pavilion)? And are the car adapters the same in Europe as in USA?

First Europe is not same adaptors as US, You will need a convertor easy to buy at any Source, As for using Laptop my Son has done this most hotels have either connections in rooms or a place where you can go and use their Computer free. I have done this so I have been there. I would add I was in UK my son was in Europe. It all depend on size of Hotel.

I'm pretty sure Europe uses 220 volts instead of the 110 volts that we use here in the States. I would suggest getting a 220v to 110v adapter for your wall connections. As far as the car connection, European cars have the same 12 volt cigarette lighters that American cars have, but if you're renting the car, just make sure you specify ASHTRAY and LIGHTER as an OPTION because not all cars have cigarette lighters in them. UK power rarting is 220V, whereas US and other Europian countries are 110V. Having said that, you need not have to worry, as the adaptors now-a-day come with universal rating, i.e. ranges from 110-230V. The only thing you need to take with you is a plug coverter (US to UK) -- US looks like this l l, UK looks like this l ' l. The car adapters are the same -- they all run on 12V batteries with the same universal sockets.

Before you go check the input voltage on your psu label. It probably says 100 - 240v, this is ok, you just need the socket converter.

Dell laptop computer problem
Dell laptop computer problem?
I have a 2007 dell laptop computer. I am currently in Italy using a simple adapter to plug it into the wall but no converter. I've been here for a month and have had no problems until now. First, whenever my power cord was plugged in, after a few seconds my screen would go really dark. Now, even when I boot it up sans power cord, it still goes dark after it starts up. You can still see everything on the screen, but just barely. I can only see enough to power it down. Does anyone know what may be causing this/how I can fix it?

Hi there, Have you tried booting it into safe mode? Try that, If you still can't see the screen and your Dell doesn't respond to fn + screen brighter key (above the number keys) then maybe the screen backlight has blown. Try with another computer to go to Dell's user forum to see if you can find anyone else having this problem. Hope it's not the backlight.

the adapter might be slowing power, check the voltage/amps on the adapter and make sure its not too low Or keep your kids away from the brightness settings... lol

Whats one of the most beautiful things you've seen
Whats one of the most beautiful things you've seen?
Person, place or thing? Person- My mother. I think she is the most beautiful person in the world, inside and out. She's pretty awesome :) Place- It's a tie between Sweden and Sicily- Italy. Swedish people are seriously some of the nicest people I've met! Sicily is just absolutely gorgeous. My cousin took me around from 6am till 3am, it's one of my best memories ever! Thing- My Laptop! Lol, you can pick one if you'd like!

Last week it was raining a lot and when I was driving back home from a few errands on the 24th, I looked over and saw the clean, clear blue sky, with the huge mountains covered in white in the distance. It was gorgeous, if only for a moment. I went to Victoria, BC during a cruise a few months ago, and so far it was the most beautiful city I've ever been to.

person- hmm i couldnt not really recall anyone but then i read urs and it clicked in ma nogin, like duh! so i would say my grandma for her inner beauty of a heart, her determination refusing to put "dis" in her ABILITY...her outside on the other hand ehh she is old and wrinkly and creeps me out cuz she can get passed our security barkin dog, the opening of our door without a peep and make her way to my room thru the wooden hall that at certain points it will creek on u. i'll b on my computer and then all of a sudden in the reflection there she is smilin at me with her dentureless smile lol *shivers* old and young lil girls scare me :( place- grand canyon tho i felt cheated out of seing it. it looked sooooooo freakin fake lol the colors were so not bright. sky looked fake as well as the sides of the canyons. I wanted to just walk to the edge and give it a lil poke to c if it was a bilboard or something. thing- my baby ducks duck dodgerz and quinn "quinny" jonez...at the time they were small but now their big and r yappers outside :D

it's hard to top that. the most beautiful place is the sky at night piercing into the heaven, things-any ancient art piece, if it's old, it's beautiful to me
