i need to buy a laptop computer,help!?
which laptop brand is strong and fast,has webcam and has a large screen view? coz i would like it 4 watching movies.But my money is $ 450 only.Here in italy laptops are very expensive (500-800 Euro). Is which memory range for a laptop can make it to work faster? Where can I buy online? any one with an idea help please! thank you!

ok......... i think you are asking for quite a bit here. I use a notebook - its an advent and has a webcam built in. the screen is only 10 inch though which is the downside. heres a picture f it if you are interested. http://www.k12converge.com/wp-content/advent.jpg It also hasn't got a cd drive, so i doubt you will want it unless you save the film onto a usb drive. You can also look on ebay - great laptops for small prices! Good luck xxx

I always ask myself this question when I travel. Bring your cell phone if it's GSM and supports 900-1800 frequencies. If not, leave it at home. If you have work to do then bring your laptop but I hate lugging a laptop around on my vacations. The only reason I usually bring it is to watch movies on the plane and store my pictures. Bring a book instead. Bring multiple memory cards or a digital wallet that lets your store your memory cards. Other than that, you're on vacation. Get off your computer. If you really need e-mail or internet find an internet cafe.

dolly, you better not, bring you´r lap top, and cell phone, there are a lot of public internet places, and is going to be cheaper to call back home from a public phone than from your cell phone, enjoy your trip !

Cali to italy
Cali to italy??
yes i asked this again... So how can a ten year old girl(me)keep herself occupied on a plane to N.Y from L.A.(8 hrs)and another one from N.Y. to Italy? I cant bring my laptop but i am going to see if i can bring my porable dvd player. Also how can i keep space in one suitcase for TWO WEEKS, i heard u can roll an out fit updoes it help??!!??

I listed a 7lb laptop on eBay worth about $700 and a bidder interested in buying it asked me for a shipping quote to Italy. He gave me in info and UPS & Fedex are quoting me ridiculous prices (FEDEX $116.76, UPS even went as far as $200!) this can't be right? Maybe i should just call directly for a quote.

It's high, but not terribly surprising. I wouldn't pay that much for shipping a laptop because it would offset the difference between the price here in Italy and there. Generally, I just wait until I fly into the US on a trip and bring things back with me because it's both cheaper and faster.

Fedex and UPS are overnight couriers. And a flat envelope weighing less than 8 oz usually costs about $50. So for a 7 lb laptop the freight sounds about right. To get the shipping cost down you need to check with the US post office, and ask about the options not only for express freight but also for slower (and therefore cheaper) freight. I should also point out that there are sometimes restrictions on exporting electronics from the US - please be very careful and know the rules before you ship that laptop overseas
