Before you spend too much money, be sure of what you need to buy. Check the power brick, see if it is 110/220. If so, all you'll need is a plug adaptor. Your local Best Buy or Radio Shack should have a selection to choose from

I'm studying in Turin, Italy Fall 06. What I should and shouldnt take for 4 months? What should I buy there?
I will be sharing an apartment with 4 other study abroad students and either room with one person or get my own room. What should I take in terms of how much clothing, laptop, ipod, IDs, credit cards, etc etc? And what should I leave home and just buy when I get to Italy?

Where are you coming from? That makes a big difference in what to take. When I studied abroad, I brought my laptop, a big suitcase of clothes, some hygeine stuff, 4 pairs of shoes and various odds and ends. Make sure to take voltage converters. Small electronics, like alarm clocks and hair dryers, should be bought there. It's not worth dealing with converting voltage and packing.

as the saying goes;charity begins at home, you should b behave yourself well, when you do that it means almost all people in your country have etiquette. You have made a good name for your country in the first place. 21cloth,forget of laptop as you will get a computer in the school's computer lab, you can take ipod ids credit cards. leave the laptop you might get when in italy. all th best in your studies.

Can laptops run on different voltages

Can laptops run on different voltages?
Fodor's Rome 2004: Most laptops run equally well on 110 and 220 volts and so require only an adaptor (in Italy). How can this be the case? I though transformers change a voltage only as a ratio, so if the input voltage is increased, so would the output. Surely this would damage sensitive components??
Laptops & Notebooks - 2 Answers

1 :
Most of contemporary chargers are designed in a way they can work both with 220 and 110. Even very primitive chargers from cheap mobile phones can do that. To be sure, you should read the sticker on the embossed text on the charger, where it is stated, what input voltage it takes (usu. something like "100-240V" will be written). The DC output of these chargers is constant and also stated on the adaptor.
2 :
There may be multiple trasnformers in the adaptor which switch automatically based on the input voltage. I don't know for sure, but theoretically this could be the method. It raises another question as well. How do you insert the plug into a 220 outlet?

What do I need for my Sony Laptop (from USA) to work in Italy

What do I need for my Sony Laptop (from USA) to work in Italy?
The voltage in the US is 110V and in Europe its 240V (i think). So, I would like to know what I need for it to work in Italy, some kind of adaptor or converter?
Other - Computers - 5 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
The computers, as well as Laptop support volatage from 110 - 250 V so only thing that you will need is the switch so that you will be able to plug you laptop into the electricity network so you will be able to charge it. BTW in europe the standard for most countries is 220, so you do not have to worry about anything getting messed up.
2 :
hi,, good day well from what you are telling about the difference of voltage ,, well yes you have to buy a voltage converter,, they offer those at any electronic store like Fry's electronics or walmart or look in the yahoo search.. oh 1 more thing if you get to work in Italy email me yea so i can know if you got it work..good luck check the 1s link they offer more electronics then any other store
3 :
If the range of voltage acceptable to your laptop is shown as 110 - 230V, all you'll need is a plug converter, that'll allow you to plug the American style plug in the European one. They use 2 round pins, not flat ones like we do.
4 :
You will need a US to European adapter ....as the plugs are different . Its sometimes also called Universal Adapter/Convertor .... There is no Electronics in it ...its just a connector which has a US socket on one side (where ur US pins go in) and has various diff plugs on the other side ...so that u can choose what to use. U just need the right adapter as the power plugs are different in Italy. Its simple and effeicent and a MUST HAVE if ur a Business Traveller. The most certain place to get it is on the Flight or in travel stores on the Airports in US or Italy. The charger for ur laptop will handle the voltage automatically. U can also find these adapters online or in large Electronic stores ....its better coz the ones on the flight are costly.
5 :
Check your laptop rating plate - for input voltage rating if its 110V / 60Hz then you will need another adapter to connect that will step down (convert) 240V input in Europe to 110 volts where you can connect the power plug of laptop. EURO Power outlet (240V) = > Adapter => (110V) => Laptop Just ensure that there is no switch to change the voltage setting on laptop. Please refer the laptop manual for clear instructions. In case you do not have one, visit the manufacturer website and download one related to your laptop model and go through it rather than blowing up the laptop due to negligence. If you are not sure consult a technician

Usually, the connections are the same and you can use a U.S. phone line for the connection. To rest your mind, email the hotel and ask if you have to have a special adapter to connect to the ADSL. Perhaps you know ... ADSL is a form of DSL only the speeds are different for sending and receiving. Good luck

Where can I watch the NBA finals in Rome, Italy

Where can I watch the NBA finals in Rome, Italy?
I'm going to be traveling to Rome next week. I'm from Orlando and a big Magic fan. *If* they make it to games 6 and 7 I'll be out of the country by then but I don't want to have to miss the game! Does anyone know of any places in Rome that would have the finals on satellite? I know I can stream it on a computer but I'm not planning on bringing my laptop so I want to know if any bars/pubs will have it.

nba is not so popular in italy, but of course if you go in a bar, or pub and ask about tha game they will let you see it ... i guess.... but consider that when they play here it's like 3 am... don't know if you find a bar that late !
2 :
i don't think that the free television shows it... the only is "sky", the satellite company, but it's not free, you have to pay it... you can find it only in some not economical hotels, maybe... anyway, as said, it's at 3am... you can't find a bar with a tv and sky opened at 3, it's so improbable!

Where can I buy a power outlet adapter for my American laptop in Venice, Italy

Where can I buy a power outlet adapter for my American laptop in Venice, Italy?
I forgot to bring a power adapter to Italy. My laptop has a different outlet plug and won't plug into Italy's wall sockets without an adapter. I don't need a converter because my laptop will accept between 100 - 250 V. I would prefer to buy one at an electronics shop. Are there any electronics stores in Venice, Italy? I tried looking for one but was unsuccessful. Please provide an address and/or the store's website. Thanks! A Venezia, dove compro un adattatore di alimentazione per il mio computer di Stati Uniti, per favore? Si prega di includere un indirizzo. Grazie!

I get mine at Ipercoop which isn't specifically an electronics store. Bricoio or Bricofer also have them. If you really want to go to an electronics store to buy one, you can go to Mediaworld in Mestre: http://www.mediaworld.it/punti-vendita/scheda-punto-vendita/index.php?regione=VEN&localita=44 You might try some of the camera shops in Venice itself like Centro Foto Video at5896, Cannaregio, This is right on the main route between the train station and Rialto.

I saw one at the train station in Venice. Also, you can check to see if the hotel carries one either in their gift shop or for hotel guests

if you do then there is a chance it will get stolen but at the same time you can stay connected with ur friends it depends on how long youll b gone

no, dont bring it , just dead weight and worry
5 :
Basically, I agree with all the other answerers -- except that I took mine with me on a camping trip to France last year, because I was taking lots of photos and I wanted to download and review them as I went. But you could always upload them to a Photobucket account from an internet cafe, assuming you bring your camera's USB cable... I also did watch films tucked up in my tent at night, which was neat, but that's not really a good enough excuse on its own, is it? =D All in all, I vote for leaving the laptop at home: it'll weigh on your mind as much as on your back.
6 :
Leave it at home. Would you bring a portable tv to the Grand Canyon

3 :
The plug adapter shown in the 1st link allows you to plug devices made for the US market into the wall sockets here in Italy and other places in Europe. You'll need that. The 2nd link is just the power supply for the laptop which you need regardless of where you use the laptop (US or Europe) - you do not need a special one of these for Europe though. The same one you use in the US will work as long as you have the plug adapter. The point of the plug adapter is to convert the plug from the flat pins used in US outlets to the round pins used here. Check the label of the Notebook adapter. It will say something like Input: 100- 240 VAC 50/60 Hz. That tells you it is made to work either with the US electrical system or the system here in Europe. Some devices are not made to work in both places and those will need a voltage converter in order to work here. Most modern electronic things do support both though - camera chargers, cell phone, chargers, IPOD chargers, laptops, ... Other things like electric shavers or hair dryers may not be designed to work in both places though. I have several laptops and camera chargers that were purchased in the US here and have never needed more than the plug adaptor (i.e., I don't need a separate voltage converter to go from the US 100 V to the European 220 V)

probably one of the power cord tip that is compatable with the one that europe is using

You will need a network wi-fi connection point, along with the right outlet plug in for the walls. I think you can get them from dell.
5 :
You'll need the correct AC plug for European outlets and voltage. Some plugs for the computer connection are already capable of making the switch by using an adapter from Dell. Contact them to see what you need. So many people travel with computers these days, the manufacturers make it easy to take them abroad

The power is different and the plugs are different but if you buy a simple adapter for the plug your laptop will do the rest. You can get the plug at the airport or even your hotel should have them. Just check that your laptop takes 110-220 power (by the battery or on the power cord), which 99% of them do, and you are fine.
2 :
There are adapters - if you live in BC, go to BCAA and purchase an international adapter. But almost any store that sells luggage also sells adapters.

So you probably can't read it. Go to the control panel, in xp the icon looks like a box with a check mark in it Then go to regional and language options, this will be a globe icon. In the drop down menu choose your language. Hope this helps.
2 :
Yes, The language settings are in the operating system not the computer. You did not say what operating system is on the computer but let's assume it is MS Windows XP. Go to: Control Panel, Date, Time and Regional Options, Add Other Languages, Regional Options, and select English from the language drop-down menu, APPLY and SAVE.

solving suggestion:1.assuming that its winxp, click start button (symbol:windows), click control panel (symbol:pencil pointed towards slate with tick mark), double click regional and language (symbol:globe) in standards and formats change Italian to English (U.S) then click apply and click languages, click details, change default input language to English (U.S) click apply the click OK button. thank you

The providers you mention are THE internet mobile providers in Italy, and all of them provide prepaid sim to be used with a usb key. There are various choices about price, time, restrictions... It depends on how much you foresee to stay in Italy and how much time per day on the internet: for isntance, 30 euro for 100 hours in a month. Anyway, buying any sim you can use it in a usb key paying the regular price (usually 0.5 eurocent every 15 minutes using gprs or one euro every 15 minutes using umts, where available). Of course this way is the cheapest way

"100-240V" means the transformer can work with any voltage between 110 and 240; you may also see something like "50-60 Hz". It will works perfectly in Italy, you just need a plug adapter (or an Italian or European chord). If the charger just says "120 V", it will not work in Italy (220 V), so you need either a converter or a charger that can work with 220-240 V or in a wider range, like your laptop charger.

Buy a universal travel adaptor pack. Must of Europe uses round 2 and 3 plug outlets.

All use the standard "Europlug" two pin arrangement, which all your devices should be able to use the same sort of adapter for. They differ in grounding though, if you need that. A good bit of Europe uses the Shucko style, which has a contact ground on the top and bottom of the receptacle. France and Belguim have a male earthing prong on their receptacle. Itally just uses an extra hole between the two power prongs. You should make sure your equipment is 230V capable though. If not, you need a converter transformer.

The ones below are for Italy which are the same in Greece and France I believe

Post in the Italian Yahoo: http://it.answers.yahoo.com/;_ylt=ArABhA4l0g2B77G0LsdT.M5r.Bd.;_ylv=3 After you use Google Translate (which I hear is only so-so, but better than nothing) If she's traveling over International border(s), then she must make certain that her "Wind" provider is not charging her extravagant fees, or they will really rake her over the coals

Italy uses a two-pin outlet similar to the rest of continental Europe. You can drop by an Apple Store, and buy a set of adapters that replace the two-pin US plug on your Macbook's power brick for that cool Apple look. Or you can just buy a US->Europe plug adapter like the one in the bottom picture of the page linked below.
    2 :
Italy uses the two pin "euro" plug. Obviously your Macbook is okay on voltage but I do recommend a small surge protector. There are several small travel ones that are a combo adapter and 100-240 surge protector. www.walkabouttravel.com has one that I use. It even has a built in USB charger, all for about 20 bucks.
    3 :
An adaptor so it will fit into an Italian socket. Shouldn't be a problem

Go to Radio Shack and buy a converter that's rated for laptops and other electronics. Regarding the Internet, TCP/IP is not language-specific so as long as the hotel provides you with 'net access you should be OK

If I am moving to Italy, can I still bring my desktop computer and laptop

If I am moving to Italy, can I still bring my desktop computer and laptop?
Want to know what to keep in mind regarding my computer, if I can bring my existing computer ITALY without having a problem running it. I know there is a power difference 220V in Europe.

    obviously,lol
    2 :
I know desktops have a little switch next to the power switch on the back of the computer that can change over from 120 to 220. Not so sure about laptops.
    3 :
If your computer is not ancient ,the power supply has voltage selector.Same for laptop,it does this automatically.
    4 :
yes, run it on a transformer.
    5 :
i forbid you to bring anything, XD Of course you can bring you desktop and laptop
    6 :
    yahh, why not ? :]
    7 :
there shouldn't be a problem the desktop power supply have a switch as for the laptop you can probably get a universal adapter for it.
    8 :
Power difference is the only issue. Laptops adapters normally change automatically with no problem (see label on adapter - it should read "input voltage 100V-250V" Desktop PCs often have a switch on the power block (where the mains cable goes in) that allows you to switch from 110 to 220/240. If yours does then it will be a red slider that you have to move by sliding it accross with a screwdriver or similar. It will be showing the current voltage on it. OBVIOUSLY you should not switch over until you get to italy.
    9 :
There are plug adapters, but asking someone knowledgeable about computers would be best. The power surges and requirements may be different. Also, will the programs and operating systems be easily compatible with your computers? You will have to connect to the internet with at least one of them, I am guessing.

what cant I connect to the internet in Italy?
I brought my laptop to Italy and even in wiFi spots my internet wont connect. Why is this? I heard there is a special code i need or something for security reasons because I bought my computer in America. Does anyone know how I can fix this up? i think im going to get a line connection and not rely on wifi but Im not sure this will help? and Ive heard its slower here in italy than DSL in america. Is your laptop able to detect the network? Does it see the SSID?
    2 :
Hello, I will try my best to help you , as i have a good knowledge in this area. Basically you may have the Wi-fi spot but you do not have the WEP codes (Wep basically is a pin code that is used to stop people accessing the wireless internet for free) A good example is that if you have internet in your house that is wireless a neighbour may use it taking up your download speed and allowance, so thats why WEP's are used to protect this. The best possible way you can connect to the internet is probly through the phone connection in the place your staying but you may have to contact an ISP (Internet Service Provider) such as; BT, Sky, NTl or aol. these will have technical support which will be able to help you more. Hope this helps you a little Good luck x If you have anymore questions do not hesitate to email me : ashmed_bale@yahoo.co.uk
    3 :
Normally at hotspots, there is an encryption key added to secure the data and prevent outsiders reading it. The owner of a hotspot can normally tell you the key. Also some ISPs hold arrangements with others to allow roaming. The best thing would have been to speak to your provider over the pond, the may have had info for this. At your hotel there may be a connection, either wireless or wired, but you need to ask the management. Internet cafes will normally offer a service.
    4 :
A friend of mine had the same problem bringing her laptop from Italy to the US; she brought her pc in a shop and for 30 $ they solved their problem: an "automatic search" option wasn't set properly. Of course I can't know if you share her same problem. As for xDSL, speed and reliability vary according to where you are; generally, now speed is at least 4 Mbit/sec in theory, and 1-2 Mbit for real. If the service provider of your choice do cover your place by its own, then minimum would be 8 Mbit/sec (again, in theory), which is ADSL limit. Somewhere ADSL2 new standard is available, speed is up to 24 Mbit/sec. Fastweb offer optic fiber connection, the fastest available, but in main cities (and sometimes nearby towns) only. Currently, Telecom Italia (if you're in Italy sure you're hearing news from the media these days) is the only one which can offer direct service all around Italy; other ones (Wind, Tiscali, etc) just in some parts of the Country, while everywhere else they do through Telecom, hence slower speed, generally

im going to a italy. im going to a few nice hotels. one in rome, one in venice, and one in florence. do you think its safe to bring my laptop wiht me or do you think someone would steal it. and can someone explain to me whats the deal with stealing things in italy?

i brought my laptop with me when i went to italy. it is safe i would say.but it depends on how you keep it.unless you're planning on bringing your laptop around with you,you should lock it in your suitcase for safe keeping.that was what i did. and most of the hotels i stayed at did not offer free wireless. they charged for wireless.
    2 :
Yes, it's safe here with your laptop. I have several of them here and take one sometimes when I'm out exploring. I've never had a problem in a hotel with having anything stolen - either here in Italy or elsewhere in Europe. I would not leave it unattended in a train or a hostel though, but that has nothing to do with Italy. It's just general prudence no matter where you are.
    3 :
I mean...and people is even here to answers to you in a polite way? Is hard for me even to find in this question an hint of funny...how come people like you dont feel any form of SHAME to post so INSULTING questions toward a whole population and nation that in the worst of the probability is much much much much SAFER and more more more more CIVILIZATED that the one where you come from? Really dont you feel embarassed to ask a thing like this? What do you expect people would reply to you guess if I start to ask if is dangerous to go to Uk or Us or i would find a bunch of muss murders, guns lovers, tosser childhood with the hobby of shoot each other ...would you find it a bit insulting dont you? And why the hell in Italy in your little limitated and RACIST brain should be MORE thiefs that in any part OF THIS WORLD??? Would you post a so insulting question in the Us or Uk answers? I dont think so...would you like to hear, to satisfy your racism that in Italy there are more CRIME and more THIEFS than anywhere else?? Unfortunatly i have to reply NO there arent more of those here!! And yes you would find pickpockets darling but like in any other place of the world and unfortunatly for us, the most of those people are IMMIGRANTS (we received all the scums from those countries with the ammission of their own nation so I am not telling nothing "strange") that are doing that kind of things!! At least we havent got drunk and stoned knakers or chavs like the one you got there... or you want export them in our civilizated country? NO THANXS To end this answer I have to say that people like you so racist are very deludent, now you can even report me if you want but you are a shame and in any other yahoo answers (less than less in the Us or Uk) they would allow you to be so INSULTING with a whole country!!!
    4 :
hell no somebody might steal it
    5 :
I travel to Italy very often, and travel through the US very often. I had my laptop stolen twice: both times it was in the US. I don't know what you mean by "stealing things in Italy". Petty crime rates in the US and Italy are pretty much the same.
    6 :
"and can someone explain to me whats the deal with stealing things in italy?" In Italy usually assholes get robbed much more than others, so you should stay at home.
    7 :
Don't come in Italy we are famous for stealing laptops, specially Apple ones.
    8 :
The problem with bringing a laptop is lugging it around. Rarely is internet free in Europe so if there is a internet cafe that's convenient you might be better off. If you do bring your laptop make sure it's packed safely so it doesn't get smacked around; bring a European power adapter plug (see link); and bring a lock for it (see other link) so you can lock it up in your room while you go out. In general "stealing" in Italy is like any other metropolitan area - there are criminals and people who prey on disoriented tourists. In addition, Italy does have a Gypsy (Roma) culture that has a tradition of sneaky street theft. Just be careful and don't carry as little as possible (money, cameras, etc.)
    9 :
Skip Italy, everything gets stolen. What could you possibly need to carry a computer around for?
    10 :
You know what? I was born in the US and i have alway been ashamed of it. I like to consider myself a victim of immigration. Unfortunalty the american passport is like a tatoo that means shame to me. And not thanks to idiots like you I am more embarresed to carry theUS passport. Do Italy a favor and stay home and use your USDs as a suppository! Go somewhere like Florida maybe with any luck a hungry shark will bite you and eat your god damn laptop. TESTA DI MERDA !
    11 :
i think , no issue to bring laptops there.. remember to keep it with you or put it in room safe, if you dont need to bring out..
    12 :
We travelled all over when we lived in Italy. My husband brought his computer everywhere we went and never had it stolen. Many nicer hotels have a safe in the room that you can leave things in if you are worried. Honestly, I felt safer from violent crime in Italy than I do in the states. However, it is well-known that there is a lot of pick-pocketing and that sort of thing in *all* large cities around the world. Use common sense. You wouldn't leave your laptop on a park bench or restaurant table here unsupervised. Don't do it there, either. Also, remember that you will need converters and adapters to be able to plug your computer in. Because the power supply is higher, you can fry your computer if you don't have the correct converter and adapter. (Not just the little plug adapter - a converter makes the electricity that comes out a safe level for your computer. You need to plug your computer into one for re-charging your batteries) Go to a computer store or other electronics store with knowledgable people who can help you get the right one for your needs. Enjoy your trip.
    13 :
hi, i am italian and i live in italy. i dont know what ideas you have of italy but maybe you should go to some website to check out the criminal rates and find out if they are by any chance actually higher than in your own country. you are not going to south africa, but only to italy.
    14 :
darling, your question is simply damn, and a beautiful country like Italy can go by without visitors like you. We are not crime free, but not ridden like your country, maybe our country is much safer in crime infested streets than in some of your churches or schools. Did I open a can of worms, so be it

Sure, you just can't use them in flight. You will probably be questioned by security why you have two of them but they will must likely let you go on through if your answers satisfy their questions. Why not just put one in your checked baggage?
    2 :
Ya u can use laptops on flight but after the permission of crew members.
    3 :
Technically the allowance is a carry on and a laptop. However I just completed a trip with 2 laptops. I would have had to pay for the extra allowance, but I doubled the bags use by using it as my purse as well. I would check with the airlines you are flying on. The smaller the airline, the more restrictions you will find.
    4 :
From an airline perspective you are allowed to do it as long as you don't go over your carry-on allowance. There are some reasons why you'd want to reconsider doing this however: -- At all check points you'll have to pull out two computers for screen, a bit of a pain. They may also question why you have two, but there is nothing that says you can't have two -- it may just create suspicion. -- You may get charged at customs in Italy for the second computer. Generally with electronics you are allowed one camera, one video camera, one computer etc. that is considered for personal use and not charged duty. If you have more than that, they could consider it commercial merchandise and charge you and the charge could be hefty. If you do decide to do this I suggest you get a roll-away computer bag like I have that can fit two laptops. I have a Targus bag bought at Best Buy that is like an overnight bag but can fit two laptops if necessary. Good luck

Good luck

What type of adapter/converter do I need to be able to use my american laptop in Italy?
I have a 2007 macbook laptop, and I'm going to be bringing it to Italy in a week. I know I need to get some sort of thing to allow me to plug it in, but i've heard that certain ones can fry your laptop. I was wondering if anyone knows about this and has a recommendation. thanks!

You need a plug adapter for Europe like this one: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2104181. These are widely available at places like Radio Shack, Target, Walmart, airport shops, luggage stores, etc. You do not need a voltage adapter since the power supply for laptops works with either US or European voltages and frequencies. You can verify this on the label on the power supply; it will say something like 100 - 240 V and 50 - 60 Hz. I've lived in Italy for several years and use my laptops purchased in the US with no problem.

First of all, you need an adaptor for the flat USA plugs to get into the round european sockets unless the hotel where you will be staying can provide you durectly with the adaptor). In Italy we have two kinds of plugs, both round, one smaller (real italian),and the other bigger (so called german or european), so I would advise you wait to buy your adaptor when you come over and you can see which socket is in your hotel room. Otherwise, you can buy the adaptor either at the airport or here at a supermarket, or even online. Here you can see a picture of the varous adaptors: http://www.adaptelec.com/wa9-travel-plug-adapter-for-europe-type-f-cee-77-schuko-p-2.html and here you will see what I'm talking about: http://www.adaptelec.com/index.php?main_page=document_general_info&products_id=304 Secondly, but even more important, is the fact that over here in Italy, power is not 110 Volts like in the US, but 220Volts, so that's what might damage your pc! I it cannot be switched into 220 Volt you must buy another item that reduces the power! In Italy it's called "trasformatore", meaning "converter", transformer, and it can be bought in any electricity shop.

Basically what they said. You first need a plug that will fit into the Italian plugs, which vary. They're all spherical prongs, two of them are just two, one father apart than the other, and a newer one is the three prongs. Here's an example of a three prong: http://www.mapleleaftravel.ca/electronics/adptplugit/ You will also need a transformer like somebody said. Its usually a box like this: http://www.brookstone.com/bs_assets/images/shop/large_300/223578_P.jpg You have to be careful though because different transformers are to be used for different things depending on the amount of wattage the appliance needs. Chargers, for instance, need a low wattage under 25 or something, but things with heat usually need more. Some transformers have two settings for this, or built in detectors. Laptops might be a special case and you might want to contact apple to find out what you need specifically

Ups and Poste Italiane/SDA (the FedEx Italian foreign correspondent) manage the custom procedures. According the EU customs law, you has not to pay custom duties (duties and VAT) if: - you carry the laptop with you and its value is no more than 175 euros - you send it to your parents by mail and and its value is no more than 45euros; in this case, you shall specify in a letter that: you send it to your parents, for free, occasionally, for personal or family use only. there area other relevant cases (SCHOOL OUTFITS , SCHOLASTIC MATERIALS AND OTHER SCHOLASTIC HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS; HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS FOR FURNISHING A SECONDARY RESIDENCE; CONSIGNMENTS OF NEGLIGIBLE VALUE ). Please check the relevant law: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:31983R0918:EN:HTML
