How to stay organized but stylish while traveling

How to stay organized but stylish while traveling?
I'm 16 and I'm flying on an ten-hour including transit flight to Italy in a couple of weeks (flying that long a distance alone for the first time) and I will be bringing along a notebook laptop and a small DSLR camera, but I'd preferably like to have my hands free so I don't lose or forget anything. How can I arrange my carry-on so everything fits? I dislike backpacks during the summer because they make my back feel sticky, and having just one bag would be ideal. Any suggestions for bags, or organizing tips?

Get a tote bag of some sort--there are many options, either through a luggage outfitter or from Land's End or l.l.bean. I do think you'd get the most room from a backpack, though. I would also have a non-paper folder that you can put any papers in (itinerary, confirmations, etc) so that they don't get crushed or crumbled. I just bought one for under $1 at Walmart yesterday myself for the same purpose. Get a plastic toiletry bag from either Walmart or Target's travel items' section. They are better than the standard quart-size ziplock bag becuase they are more durable and won't break/leak. You can put as many under 3 oz bottles in it that will fit. For me a mini deoderant, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, a comb, and some makeup is a must. I also invest in a travel wallet--it is large enough to fit your passport and you can keep all your other items (credit, debit, and driver's licenses) with you and everything (including cash, etc) is all in one wallet. Mine came from Crate & Barrel. When selecting a travel bag, make sure it has a section for your laptop...that will keep that part organized. Also make sure you have a case to protect your DSLR. Then you can put magazines, iPod, etc in the travel bag and have everything organized

That's a very tough order. Unless something simple, like a removable component on the mobo, you are often out of luck

I'm planning to go to Strasbourg tommorow and I want to know in what way do you take your laptop...can I leave it in the hotel room while I'm walking around? I want to take it because I'm planning to make HDR or panoramic photos...so I can check if anything is alright. Is it safe to take it? Of course! Take it in a backpack and carry it with you. Good luck, I'm sure your pictures will turn out really well!

I take my laptop everywhere with me!!!!!

a laptop is even more valuable to a photographer than a cell phone. take it with you. if you are concerned with the security at the hotel and dont want to leave it in your room, ask the concierge or front desk if there is a hotel safe where it can be stored for you.

yes take your laptop! technically, everything is safe if u KEEP it safe. so if you make sure to lock it up or "hide" it in a safe place, then yeah, it will be fine! have fun in Strasbourg!!! :)
5 :
Yes I take mine - yes it is safe to take it. If you are not sure about leaving in your room then leave it at reception in their safe.

I take a cheap laptop with me in travels for only two purposes. (well, three if I include games to play) One is for journaling and typing notes on my travels. The other is so that I can upload images from my flash cards when they get full. I NEVER leave it in the hotel room. Same with my camera. I will either take it with me, or have the hotel desk put them in their own safe

RJ45 connectors are standard world wide for networking, and on top of that any major hotel will have wireless access points as well. If you want to be double sure, why not email a couple of the hotels you will be staying at.
2 :
Phone plugs (used for any kind of internet connection except ISDN) in Italy are either RJ-11 or tri-polar (tri-polar to RJ-11 adaptor are anyway very easy to find). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RJ11
