How much would it cost me to ship a laptop to Italy without risking to pay a custom fee ?
I want to deliver my laptop to my parents in Italy (I'm in FL) , but I don't wanna risk to make them pay an extra custom fee to receive it . How can I avoid that ? Do you think Ups or FedEx can do the job ? Thanks .

Ups and Poste Italiane/SDA (the FedEx Italian foreign correspondent) manage the custom procedures. According the EU customs law, you has not to pay custom duties (duties and VAT) if: - you carry the laptop with you and its value is no more than 175 euros - you send it to your parents by mail and and its value is no more than 45euros; in this case, you shall specify in a letter that: you send it to your parents, for free, occasionally, for personal or family use only. there area other relevant cases (SCHOOL OUTFITS , SCHOLASTIC MATERIALS AND OTHER SCHOLASTIC HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS; HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS FOR FURNISHING A SECONDARY RESIDENCE; CONSIGNMENTS OF NEGLIGIBLE VALUE ).
