I am leaving for italy in august and i plan on bringing my laptop with me, what adapter or converter do i need
i am worried because i have been researching this and many people have had their lap tops fried by plugging it into an adapter and it sparked and just went out. What do i need to do so that i can charge my computer over there while im in italy? i hope someone can help me and i would very much appreciate respectful not rude answers. Thanks so much, my comp runs on 110v-240 volts 50-60Hz. so would it be ok for me to just buy an adapter?

You need to find out if your computer can handle 110v and 220v or just 110 (check the power cord). European electricity runs 220volts, so if your charger only says 110v, you need to get a converter to change the voltage. Then you need to purchase an Italian adapter (go to any travel store and they will have them). The adapter shouldn't be but a few dollars, the converter though can get a little pricey, maybe $10. I'd say go to a travel store and buy a kit with a converter and adapters for most European countries... might as well have them on hand just in case you ever go somewhere other than Italy. Search travel adapter or converter on google and you can find some good prices as well
